A Persian gold-inlaid khanjar, dated 1786 Blade made of dark-coloured wootz Damascus with beautiful grain pattern, with a medial rib on both sides. Floral gold inlays on both sides of the base. Massive walrus ivory grip carved with figures and Persian inscriptions, the translation of which reads: (tr.) "Even if it is merely a handful of bones, the grip of your dagger can conquer the world" and "The affairs of the world will not be put to rights until your foot has stepped inside".
