Organic herbs. Organically grown thyme (Thymus vulgaris, left) and chives (Allium schoenoprsum, right, with purple flowers). Thyme is an aromatic herb with a strong flavour. It can be used to season a wide variety of dishes. Chives are related to onions and garlic. Uses include flavouring potatoes, soups, salads, and egg and cheese dishes. Organic farming avoids the use of most synthetic fertilisers, insecticides and herbicides, as well as genetically modified organisms.
