An elegant plant for the shrubbery borders or grass in odd corners; grows one to two feet; splendid spikes of bell- shaped flowers, which droop gracefully; perfectly hardy; blue and white colors mixed. Price, 4c each: 3 for 10 cents. SPARAXIAS. These differ from the Ixias in their dwarf habit, time of flowering and brilliancy of coloring, ranging through the various shades of crimson, scarlet and white, mottled, striped and splashed in every conceivable manner. Cultivate as Ixias. Price, 3 cents each; two for 5 cents; 25 cents per dozen. IXIAS. Allium Neapolitanum. The Ixias produce their beautiful flowers in spikes, and are of the most dazzling and brilliant colors, and sure to at- tract great attention. For pot culture in the house they give great satisfaction. Plant in October (6 to 8 in five-inch pot) in sandy loam, one inch deep, pressing soil firmly over bulbs. Put in cool cellar or frame and cover with ashes. Water spar- ingly until spikes appear, then bring to the light and give plenty of air, sunshine and water. Price, 3 cents each; two for 5 cents; 15 cents per dozen. ANEMONES. For house culture pot three to four roots in porous, rich soil, in five-inch pots.
