Names and details of Canadian Soldiers found at the Police Wireless Station, West Wickham. These were written during WW 2.

During World War 2 the building currently used as the Metropolitan Police Service Dog Training Establishment was a Police Wireless Station. Due to the proximity of this building to RAF Biggin Hill servicemen were posted on the roof of the police building as observers. Their brief being to aid the early identification of air attacks on the airfield. Canadian soldiers were amongst those who undertook this task and have added their names, details of their units, dates and sometimes their home town in Canada, to the inside wall of the water tower. It is likely that they took advantage of the enclosed water tower to allow themselves 'smoke breaks'.
