Ithas been originally oblong on plan, measuring 14 feet 5 inches by 10 feet 7 inches within walls averaging from 2 feet 3 inches to 3 feet 11 inches in thickness. The north-east wall contains a gateway 8 feet6 inches in width spanned by a plain semicircular arch-head. Theopening has been subsequently built up, a small lintelled doorwaynow forming the only means of access. The side walls remain toabout the level of the wall-heads, and the north-east gable is practi-cally complete although densely covered with ivy. Unfortunatelythe south-west wall has been almost completely destroyed. Theground floor of this building appears to have served as a gatehousepend, probably having an arched entrance at each side.
