Combat Cargo Marines prepare to secure cargo to the deck of USS Carter Hall (LSD-50) Dec. 1, 2016 during Amphibious Ready Group Marine Expeditionary Unit Exercise off the coast of Onslow Beach, North Carolina. These Marines were assigned the combat cargo billet as a part of ship taxes and come from a myriad of military occupational specialties native to the Marine units aboard Carter Hall. They play a key role in the on and offloading of vehicles and equipment on amphibious vessels, working long hours to accomplish their mission. ( Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Melanye Martinez)
