A female Wandering Albatross (Diomedia exulans) and chick on a nest on Bird Island, South Georgia, sub-Antarctic
It's hatching time here on Bird Island for our wandering albatrosses (Diomedea exulans) with about two thirds of them hatched out. This adult female is still incubating her rapidly growing chick, who is just over three weeks old now.
