Village based tennis players received a new set of playing kit after the publication of an article highlighting their plight, Limpopo, South Africa

Daily Maverick readers opened their hearts and wallets to help aspiring tennis players from Thomo village in Limpopo to buy new playing kit. In September 2021 the Daily Maverick ran story of the boys who played on a dilapidated court with limited kit and broken racquets. Early this month the Daily Maverick delivered an early Christmas present to the boys. The goodies include a set of new racquets, white shirts and dozens of tennis balls . A new court net has been ordered and will be delivered to the boys in due course. Photos: Lucas Ledwaba
