The Toshakhana is the repositary of jewels o^reat value, ornaments of pearls, diamonds, rubies, such as singly would be prized as heirloon^^in princely families. Some of thediamonds, emeralds and rubies are gloriously brilliantand of extraordinary size. Their intrinsic value,which by itself is great, is enhanced by the associa-tions which surround them. Some of these areconnected with the Emperors of Delhi and havedescended from the earlier Nazims, being still discern-able in their portraits, which adorn the walls of thePalace. The following are some of the objects of interestin the Toshakhana :— 1. State sword, Indian blade, 2 feet 7 inches long,bent, fine steel ; hilt, seven and a half inches long,enamelled white and gold, set with carved jewels only were valued by Messrs Hamiltonand Co. at Rs. 30,000.
