Campylobacter bacterial genetics research. Microbiologists examining a computer screen display of the results of a microarray experiment comparing over 1700 genes of Campylobacter jejuni bacterial strains from farm animals and humans. Campylobacter jejuni is a leading cause of food poisoning. This research (in the Produce Safety and Microbiology Research Unit) is being carried out by the Agricultural Research Service of the US Department of Agriculture.
