Demonstrators outside of the United States Federal building in Sacramento California on the first annual Taxpayer’s Action Day in 1990. Taxpayer’s Action Day, an annual nationwide protest against taxes and government waste is organized by Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW). CAGW was founded by industrialist J. Peter Grace and newspaper journalist Jack Anderson in 1984. Since the first Taxpayer’s Action day in 1990 the annual event has grown to include events in about 200 cities every October.
