To render judgment is a stern duty and an unwelcome task tobe performed; for in this a man usurps, to some extent, the func-tions of God; he should therefore himself be just, upright, im-partial, disregarding persons, influence, rank, and GRAND INSPECTOR INQUISITOR COMMANDER. THE THIRTY-FIRST GRADE OF THE ANCIENT AND AC-CEPTED SCOTTISH KITE, AND THE SECOND DEGREE OFTHE CHIVALRIC SERIES. DECORATIONS. The hangings are white, as also the canopy underwhich is the throne of the President. There are ten gilded columns; one on each side ofthe President in the East; one on each side of the Coun-sellors in the West; three on the south side of theTribunal, and three on north; equidistant fromeach other. Over the column on the right of the President is in«<cribed in large letters the word Jicstitia. Over that upon his left, the word Equitas. From tnese two columns springs a Gothic arch, from 456 BOOK OF THE A. AND A.
