Mr. Tomes explains the formation of cysts in connectionwith retained teeth by referring to the fact that when thedevelopment of the enamel of a tooth is completed, its outersurface becomes perfectly detached from the investing softtissue, and a small quantity of transparent fluid not uncom-monly collects in the interval so formed.
