William was born in Dunbar township, AVhiteSchool District, Feb. 2,1836, some eight months beforeliis fathers death, and is the youngest of eight chil-dren. His mother, with the children, moved toUniontown, April, 1845, where she still (1882) residesat the age of eighty-seven.
