Chalk military madges, Fovant Down, Wiltshire, 2016. Badges of the Royal Corps of Signals, the Wiltshire Regiment and the London Rifle Brigade. British Army units waiting to be shipped to the Western Front during the First World War carved their regimental badges into the chalk hillsides of Wiltshire while garrisoned nearby.
