Two years later the BostonShoe Store, in Westminster Street, was sold atauction by the receiver, and they bid it in at$17,050. They then offered their Hartford storefor sale, and sold it the following week at a goodbonus. Their greatest venture, and what they believeis to be their most successful one, is their elegantdepartment store in Olneyville Square, where theysell drygoods, cloaks, shoes, etc. It was openedfor business in November 1892, and is one of the. / J. SAN SOUCI. handsonaest stores to be found in New San Souci is entering upon his sixth year as amember of the School Committee of Providence,and has just finished his second year as a CommonCouncilman, declining re-election on account of thepressure of his private business. He is a member ofvarious fraternal societies, including the AmericanOrder of Foresters and Knights of Sherwood,Ancient Order United Workmen, Royal Society ofGood Fellows, Royal Arcanum and Knights ofColumbus. He was married, June 15, 1890, to MissSarah G. Lynch of Providence; they have fourchildren: Paul, aged nine; George H., aged seven;Joseph O., Jr., aged five; and Sadie L.
