I regret that a pho-tograph was not made at this time. Shethen had an outbreak of insanity, andtreatment had to be suspended. Thiscondition of affairs has been recurringsince, and her general health has failed,,so that at the present time the ulcer hasagain reached its original size. Case No. 2. W. S., male, age 57,.. white, was brought to the hospitalOctober 29, 1900, suffering from gen-eral paresis. One sister died of car-cinoma and one of phthisis. Otherwisethe family history was negative. Four years ago a small warty growthdeveloped at the inner canthus of theleft eye. This increased progressivelyin size and soon ulcerated. A diagnosisof epithelioma was made and treatmentbegun March 8, 1901. At this time, ashis photograph will show, the cancer had THE AMERICAN X-RAY JOURNAL. 981 involved the inner canthus of the left eyeand both lids, to the extent of two-thirdsof the palpebral fissure. It extendeddownward to one half the extent of thenose. One of the left submaxillaryglands was involved. The same tech-nique was used in the treatment of thiscase as in the former one. After the first two exposures a diminu-tion in secretion was noted, and afterone month the lower portion of thegrowth had been replaced by apparentlyhealthy skin.
