T. Richardson near Monitor, Washington, in 1910. The tree bore these bright solid red apples from the beginning of its pro- duction. The first grafts taken from the original tree bore in the Fall of 1925. In 1926 and 1927 two other gen- erations of this remarkable variety bore fruit which was identical to that of the parent tree. The variety was trade marked in 1927 as the Richared Delicious. The Bountiful Ridge Nurseries introduced it to the Eastern Fruit Grower in 1928. DESCRIPTIONâThe RICHARED DELICIOUS is a blood-red mutation of the Famous Delicious Apple that promises to revolutionize the growing of Delicious ap- ples. No orchardist can overlook these facts about the RICHARED. You have a tree of the same hardy char- acteristics as the old Delicious, producing an apple with that same appetizing delicious flavor, producing an ap- ple that colors a full bright red, with out a trace of stripe, on every part of the tree, the apple attaining this color weeks before we usually pick the regular Deli- cious, thus enabling- everyone who grows it to eliminate the loss from drop apples, to pick earlier, to market earlier, if he desires to do so, to seek a foreign market Avith a high quality apple that has superior carrying qualities when picked early and to keep it longer in storage for our lat
