I 1 /^. ■$i ^ McCLELLANS HEADQUARTERS BEFORE YORKTOWN Camp Winfield Scott, near Wormleys Creek. General McClellan was a stickler for neatness. His headquarters were models ofmilitary order. The guard alwajs wore white gloves, even in the active campaign. Here we see the generals chargers with theirgrooms, the waiting orderlies and the sentry standing stiffly at support arms. At the left is the guardhouse with stacked muskets.
