It is very difficult to avoid removing the supraorbitals of Varanus komodoensis with the skin, and should be much more difficult with these small snakes. T. punctatus merits reinvestigation more than other Typhlops, as punctatus has the marked lateral projection of the frontal which affords support for the supraorbital in Anomalepis.
