The skin is thin and light brown .05 .10 | White Strasburg'.—Although this grows to the largest size, it can be used w^hen quite small, and thus covers a long season. The mature roots are five to six inches long and about two inches thick, very white and the flesh is exceedingly crisp and tender ; is one of the large summer sorts_ .05 .10 White (riaut Stuttg"art.—Roots large, often four inches in diameter, top shaped. Skin white ; flesh white and crisp and not becoming strong and pithy until very late, so that those not used as a summer radish can be stored for winter use .05 .10 .60 .60. Golden Globe. White Strasburg. WINTER VARIETIES. Scarlet Cliiiia, Winter.—Form cylindrical, or large at the bottom, tapering abruptl}^ to a small tap root. Skin very smooth and of a bright rose color ; flesh firm, like the Black Spanish, but more pungent .05 Long- Black Spanish, Winter.—One of the latest as w^ell as the har- diest of the radishes, and is considered an excellent sort for winter use. Roots oblong, black, of very large size and firm texture .05 Bound Blaclc Spanish, Winter.—Roots round- ish, sometimes top shaped, three or four inches in diameter; skin black, flesh w^hite, very compact and highly flavored.
