Vietnam: Nguyen Tan Dung (17 November 1949 - ), 6th Prime Minister of Vietnam (r. 2006-2016). Nguyễn Tấn Dũng served as Prime Minister from 2006 to 2016. He was confirmed by the National Assembly on June 27, 2006, having been nominated by his predecessor, Phan Van Khai, who retired from office. At a party congress in January 2011, Dung was ranked third in the hierarchy of the Communist Party of Vietnam, but was unable to maintain his post after the 12th National Congress in 2016 due to claims of corruption and nepotism.
