AOL introduced a new logo when it split from Time Warner (the two companies had merged in 2001). As part of the separation AOL ditched the iconic logo seen in this image - the capital letters "AOL" and an arrow pointing right - in favour of "Aol" on a variety of colourful backgrounds. The new logo provoked differing opinions and criticism from many designers who were not impressed. Editorial use only.
