SAN DIEGO (Oct. 10, 2016) - Seaman Breanna Thweatt, a native of Batesville, Miss., and Seaman Thomas Deems, a native of Topsham, Maine, throw a line off a capstan as USS Nimitz (CVN 68) pulls into Naval Air Station North Island. Nimitz successfully completed a six-day sea trials officially marking the completion of a 20-month extended planned incremental availability. The ship will now begin a training and qualification cycle in preparation for an upcoming 2017 deployment.
