The Antelope Valley Indian Museum was opened in 1932 by the homesteader who built it amid the granite rock formations of Piute Butte in the Mojave Desert in Los Angeles County, USA. Indian designs decorate the Tudor-style structure that housed Howard Arden Edwards' collection of American Indian artifacts. A subsequent owner and collector, Grace Wilcox Oliver, added to the home museum and Native American exhibits before the property and its more than 3,000 objects became a California State Historic Park in 1979.
