Blood analysis. Hands pipetting blood into a sample tube before automatic analysis in a Vitros Analyser. The sample tube has a bar code to identify it. There is a computer at upper left. The Vitros Analyser is being used to assess liver function. The liver regulates the levels of many substances in the blood and so abnormal levels of blood chemicals such as bilirubin, the breakdown product of red blood cells' pigment, may be due to a liver disorder.
