BATTERY B, LIGHT ARTILLERY [Jst], ATTERY B, Maryland Light Artillery, was organized at Baltimoreand Pikesville, Md., in September and October, 1861, to servethree years. On the expiration of its term of service, the originalmembers (except veterans) were mustered out of service, and theorganization, composed of veterans and recruits, retained in ser-vice until July 3, 1865, when it was mustered out of service, inaccordance with orders from the War B was originally a part of the Purnell B was sent to the eastern shore of Virginia in the latter part of the yearof 1861, where it performed efficient service.
