This famous New Hampshire town was this year favored with magnificent weather for its thirty-ninth annual fair, the temperature ranging from 87 to 95 degrees in the shade from September 22 to 25. The flora! court was again in charge of Frank Shorey and was taste- fully arranged. In spite of the intense heat, flowers here kept remarkably well, this being one of the coolest and most refreshing departments of the fair. E. A. Coraon, as usual, showed plants in quantity, also floral designs, roses, carnations, etc., all of fine quality. The Kxeter Rose Conservatories had a fine display of roses, as had William H. Elliott from his big greenhouses in the near-by town of Madbury. H. E. Meader, dx Dover, had a splendid collec- tion of gladioli, some being excellent seedlings; also good floral designs in variety.
