Our subject was reared in theEmpire State and there received his school-ing, and made it his home until 1869, whenhe came here, and has since that time beenidentified with the growth and progress ofthis county. His early days were spent inthe school room and in assisting his father inthe labors upon tlieir farm in the town ofTruxton, but upon attaining his majority hecommenced lumbering and farming, whichhe followed for some seven yeais. He ^vasunited in marriage, June 22, , with MissEinilvStewart, a native of Connecticut, born.
