'Bike & Roll', NYC, located at Pier 84, 12th Avenue, at West 43rd Street, offers bike rentals and guided tours around New York City, and via the Circle Line at Pier 83 (left of the view), upstate trips. In the background of the shot we see the grey profile of the USS Intrepid, an Essex-class aircraft carrier built in 1943, decommissioned in 1974, saved from the scrapyard, opened as a museum in 1982, declared a National Historic Landmark in 1986, refurbished in 2006 and re-opened as a museum at Pier 86 in 2008. The aircraft carrier, with a number of historic aircraft on its deck, is the centre-piece of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum at the West 46th Street, 12th Avenue, Hudson River Park. The museum attracts some 750,000 people a year.
