Amid the brilliant galaxy of great ophthalmologists andphysicists of the last century who elevated ophthalmologyto its rightful place in medicine, one of the most notablecharacters is that of John Green. Born and reared amid therugged hills of Massachusetts, he possessed a steadfastnessof nature during the whole course of his long and usefulcareer which evidenced the strong influence of this earlyenvironment.
