Hooker stated definitely that the only fruiting plants he had seen were Scotch specimens furnished by Dickson. Pearson* did not know fruiting plants at all; his description and figures of the bracts and perianths were drawn from Cuban specimens referred to H. juniperina, his idea being that the reproductive parts in this * Hep.
