Roman encampment on Masada Mountain


A high level view of a Roman encampment (known as Camp F) on Masada Mountain in Masada National Park in the Judean Desert to the west of the Dead Sea in Israel. Herod the Great built two palaces on the mountain and fortified Masada between 37 and 31 BC (BCE). The Roman siege of Masada occurred in 72-73 AD (CE).
