In the next year his name first apjjcars in a book,and he uses as his device either the old mark which belonged toCaxton or else a smaller one of simihir design. The activity ofthe apprentice was as groat as his masters, for by the end of theyear 1500 he had printed nearly a hundred books , many ofthese were reprints of Caxtons books, such as The GoldenLegend, the Morte dArthur, The Canterbury Tales, andothers.
