For large beds or groups on lawns nothing gives a finer effect, and they are now largely used in prominent positions in many of the finest public parks, etc. The following are the most popular varieties: 5167 Aruiido Douax Varieg'ata. Long, graceful drooping leaves, variegated and green; stems 10 feet high; fine for specimens on lawns or for massing; hardy perennial , 10 5313 Briza Maxima [Quaking Grass). A beautiful variety, in great demand for ornamental work and grass bouquets ; an- nual ; 1 foot 5- 5316 Bromus Brizseforillis. A graceful variety, with droop- ing pai^icles resembling the Briza jNlaxima; hardy perennial, flowering the first season 5- 5591 Coix Laclirymse {Job's Tears').
