A wheellock rifle, German, circa 1660/1670. Octagonal barrel with slightly swamped muzzle and seven groove rifled bore in mm calibre. Dovetailed sights. Signed "Georg Kalb" on top of the breech. Wheellock with a spring-loaded pan cover. The spring is decoratively chiselled. Gold-bushed vent. Double set trigger. Simple walnut full stock with iron furniture. Butt stock has a repair from the period the weapon was in use. There is a patchbox on the underside of the buttstock with a sliding lid. Wooden ramrod.
