The island of Landes is facing the tip of Grouin, is a bird sanctuary which has over 1, 000 pairs of gulls. The particularity of this island is its polystrate appearance. Layers of algae, lichen, black, yellow lichens and plants halophytes overlap horizontally. The island irradiated by the sun sends enough fantastic colors, contrasting with a horizon (Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel) to various shades.
