Fermilab's Accelerator Complex, 2013

Fermilab's Accelerator Complex - Fermilab operates seven particle accelerators and provides beam to more than a dozen experiments and test stations as well as a cancer treatment facility. The accelerators can provide beams of protons, neutrons, electrons, neutrinos and muons. The laboratory is advancing plans for a new beam line that would send a neutrino beam to South Dakota, two new experiments for the Muon Campus, and a superconducting accelerator that would deliver more protons than any accelerator in the world. Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) is a US Department of Energy national laboratory specializing in high-energy particle physics. Since 2007, Fermilab has been operated by the Fermi Research Alliance, a joint venture of the University of Chicago, Illinois Institute of Technology and the Universities Research Association (URA). Fermilab is a part of the Illinois Technology and Research Corridor.
