Nowell was in the African island nation in conjunction with a four-day port visit by USS Kauffman (FFG 59). Nowell is embarked aboard Kauffman as Commander Task Group , which also consists of Coast Guard cutter Legare (WMEC 912) and elements of the Naval Forces Europe-Africa staff.
