Horizontal close up of moulds used in the production of praline chocolates and models of cocoa beans.

Horizontal close up of moulds used by the chocolatier in the production of chocolate demonstrated in the chocolate museum in Bruges. Chocolate was created by the Mesoamerican civilization, from cacao beans, and cultivated by the pre-Columbian Mayas and Aztecs, who used it as a basic component in a variety of sauces and beverages. Today, chocolate is eaten by many either in its solid form, or as an ingredient to baked goods and drinks. Belgian chocolate is renown throughout the world for its high quality, usually thought to be the finer grinding of the cacao beans or the higher concentration of cocoa solids used in production.
