Cottam Power Station Cottam is a 2000MW coal-fired power station with a production capacity of up to 4% of the UK market, which is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is situated on the west bank of the River Trent, about eight miles from the market town of Retford. Cottam's greatest asset, it's staff, play a vital role in making sure that the station meets both the needs of our customers as well as those of the wider community, through the generation of power in an efficient, environmentally aware are a vertically integrated energy company, which means we are involved in everything to do with energy, from generation and distribution to supplying customers. We are a big company; to best harness the power of the different parts of our business, we have developed some common values, operating principles and ambitions.
