Thecarving is much finer and more finished than that ofthe Glastonbury cup, but has not the same ruggedgrandeur. Little or nothing is known of its history,and the present owner, who bought it at Christiesfrom the collection of the late Sir Isaac Lyon Goldsmidsome years ago, believes it to be about 200 years cup is 5I inches high by 6^ inches in diameter; PLATE XV.
