The Lancaster County Florists' Club met Thursday evening, May 16, in the Chamber of Commerce rooms, with President Albert M. Herr in the chair and with an attendance of more than fifty members. Rudolph Nagel read a paper on "Gardening, and the Flo- rists' Business, as Found in ; Mr. Nagel spent some years in the vicinity of Erfurt, Germany, the center of the seed growing industry of Europe, and he gave an interesting talk about some of the large establishments at that place. He was given a hearty vote of thanks by the club. It was decided that the florists hold an outing at Pequea, July 11, when a chicken and waffle supper will be served. On the exhibition table were a fine collection of well grown geraniums by Amos Rohrer, of Strasburg. Mr. Nagel showed specimen plants of several of his importations from Europe. H. D. Rohrer showed a choice vase of pink and white campanulas, which were much admired. After the business meeting, an hour was spent socially, when refreshments were served. The next meeting will be held in September. Send For New
