Members of the Community Forest Association (CFA) walk on the edge of the Kirisia forest on August 14, 2021, in Samburu, Kenya. Climate change is shifting traditional gender roles within pastoralist communities in Kenya. Driven further by ever-increasing droughts, Samburu men leave for months, searching for water and pasture. As a result, it is becoming more acceptable for Samburu women to work for money for the first time in their history.
