Tyrosine kinase and inhibitor molecule. Molecular model of a mammalian tyrosine kinase molecule (green ribbons) with an inhibitor (blue spheres) bound

Tyrosine kinase and inhibitor molecule. Molecular model of a mammalian tyrosine kinase molecule (green ribbons) with an inhibitor (blue spheres) bound at its active site. The inhibitor molecule is joined to a biotin molecule (mauve ribbons) via a linker molecular (green spheres). Tyrosine kinase has a role in a number of cellular processes and is also involved in the growth of tumours. Some tyrosine kinase inhibitors are used to treat cancers.
