From aview of the situation it seems evident that nature especiallyintended that section for a natural reservoir into which theflood waters of the Pecos can be led at a minimum cost, andfrom this storage reservoir by a system of canals and ditchesa large tract of level, fertile land can be brought under irriga-tion and cultivation.
