Boards for the first 6 feet, with the addition of an upper 4 feet of wire netting, are frequently used; on the ground, inside, carpet wire 2 feet wide is nailed to the boards. The type of guard fence to be built depends upon the location of the ranch. If it is in a secluded spot, away from general annoyances, it is well to make it entirely of wire.
