Ozone monitoring device. Met Office employee working with a Skylark sounding rocket instrument ring with equipment to measure the vertical distribution of ozone in the Earth's atmosphere. The Skylark sounding rockets, launched between 1957 and 2005, were used to obtain information on the atmosphere and space. The British Skylark launches took place from Australia between 1957 and 1978. The Met Office is the UK's national weather monitoring and forecasting service. Photographed in 1962, in Bracknell, UK, where new headquarters for the Met Office were constructed between 1959 and 1962.
