Bananas in an English
Musa basjoo, the hardest of the banana family, together with fruiting Musa dwarf orinoco, less hardy but still enjoying English summer sunshine. All these potted bananas will be transferred to a slightly heated greenhouse during September, where they will remain until late May before returning to the fresh air for the summer. Those bananas bearing fruit pods are of the edible Musa Dwarf Orinoco variety.
