The magnificent Bidean nam Bian in Glen Coe viewed from the shores of Loch Linnhe at Onich

Editorial use only. Bidean nam Bian is the highest mountain in Argyll Scotland at 1115 metres (3773 ft). The summit is not obvious from Glen Coe and is best viewed from a distance as in this image taken in January 06. The summit is snow capped. North Ballachulish can just be seen left of the bridge, which replaced the ferry ploughing between South and North Ballachulish avoiding the detour through Kinlochleven at the top end of Loch Leven. The well known Ballachulish Hotel can just be seen to the right of the bridge.
